What is your role in NoHoW?

University of Coimbra The role of the University of Coimbra in NoHoW involves: i) the development of the NoHoW intervention content for the web-based app – the NoHoW toolkit; ii) the collaboration in the development of the assessment protocol for the operationalization of the constructs that will be targeted in the Emotional and Stress Regulation arm intervention; iii) the collaboration in the design of the NoHoW Toolkit to be implemented.

What have you done so far?

Based on literature search regarding the theoretical foundations of the Emotional and Stress Regulation arm, and the respective currently validated interventions for eating and weight regulation, the University of Coimbra developed the content for the NoHoW toolkit, adapting it to a technology-based app. This work is being conducted in cooperation with the University of Lisbon, the VTT and with other partners that have been collaborating and contributing for this task. The University of Coimbra has also been contributing for the development of the assessment protocol in a conjoined effort with the other partners of the project.

How will your work in NoHoW have an impact?

The construction of the NoHoW toolkit is a key element of the project as it is through its contents that the interventions will be delivered to the participants. The development of the NoHoW toolkit will allow for the assessment of the efficacy of the weight loss maintenance intervention techniques implemented. This evaluation process will contribute for a wider understanding of the effectiveness and applicability of technology-based interventions for weight management.
