NoHoW researchers attended the ASO UK Congress on Obesity in Glasgow 09 – 11 September 2015.
Prof. James Stubbs of the University of Derby presented ‘Self-regulation and emotion regulation in weight loss and maintenance including practical implications’. He focused on evidence about behaviour change techniques associated with weight loss and maintenance, and also described how the NoHoW project will examine the relative importance of self-regulation and emotion regulation in longer-term weight loss maintenance.
Dr. Cristiana Duarte from the University of Coimbra presented studies of the mechanisms by which emotion regulation may influence weight loss and maintenance in lifestyle weight management.
She focused on the current findings related to psychological mechanisms linking emotion regulation to eating behaviour, weight management and well-being in lifestyle weight management programmes.
